Gardener’s Creek Falls is a tiny waterfall on Gardener’s Creek. This little series of cascades might be the smallest waterfall in the Keweenaw, but it makes a lovely pit stop if you’re passing by, hiking the nature trail, or enjoying the beach at Calumet Waterworks Park. The creek is shallow, so it’s popular stop for families with kids.
How to get to Gardener’s Creek Falls
Gardener’s Creek Falls is located right next to the Gardener’s Creek Nature Trail, about 4.5 miles from Calumet. The GPS coordinates for the trailhead are: 47.272738, -88.531143.
Directions to Gardener’s Creek Falls:
- From Calumet, head west on M-203
- Turn right on Calumet Waterworks Road and drive for 2.3 miles
- Follow the road as it curves sharply to the left; here, it turns into Lakeshore Drive
- Drive 0.3 miles and park at the waterfall trailhead on the left side of the road
You can also leave your car at Calumet Waterworks Park across the street. Walk to the far end of the parking lot and cross Lakeshore Drive. You can’t miss the big Gardener’s Creek Nature Trail sign; from there, the waterfall is about one minute up the trail.

If you’re in the mood for a walk, hike along the Gardener’s Creek Nature Trail. You can stroll the full 1.15 miles or create your own route; the paths are flat and kid-friendly. No matter what the weather, it’s always worth popping over to Waterworks to check out Lake Superior or go for a quick swim.
